Chili cookout Oct 26th

October 1st, 2008
Dear Neighbors,
We’ve chosed Sunday, October 26th to get together for chili.  Cathy Suffredini is planning to make veggie chili. We’ll make some ground turkey chili and some hot cider with rum.   Debbie White is going to make some beef chili. Josh and Tiffany are going to bring corn bread. Here’s a list of what we may need in addition:
  • Dessert (one or two)
  • Salad (one or two)
  • Bowls
  • Plates
  • Silverware (we’ve got some picnic ware we can bring, but it wont’ be enough to cover all of us)
The time for the party has changed a bit, to accomodate more folks. If we could plan to get together starting at 3:00p.m. and probably wrap it up by 6:00p.m., that would be great. Feel free to bring a friend as well.  Look forward to seeing everyone then!

Neighborhood party Friday, 18 April

April 7th, 2008

The neighborhood party referenced in the last post will take place earlier, on Friday, 18 April instead. Here’s the last post from Jessica on the details:

Dear All,
I’ve heard back from most folks that Friday, April 18th would be the best date- and Sandy let us know that we can have our neighborhood registered that day as well. We can either plan to bring our own food to grill and just plan on bringing a drink or a side dish, or get more organized and make a list like we did last year. Suggestions? I think there was a lot of leftover food from last year, and if we just bring a grill item (and I’ll plan to marinate at least a few packages of chicken breasts), and one other item, that would be helpful.
Ideas for side items:
Green Salad
Dessert
Sodas/Beer
Napkins
Potato Salad
Forks/Knives/Spoons
—————————————————
I’ll also plan on making a pitcher of margaritas-
Do you want to get started around 5:45?
- Take care,
Jessica

Neighborhood Party on May 15th?

April 2nd, 2008

Update: This party will take place Friday, 18 April rather than 15 May.

Jessica Herrmann is organizing a neighborhood party. The proposed date is Thursday, May 15th.
Below is her latest email to neighbors:
Dear Neighbors-
It would be great to get together, and I’d like to have as many folks present as possible. Weekend agreement is difficult- so why don’t we try having the neighborhood get together one evening after work? I am going to propose Thursday, May 15th, starting at 5:45p.m. Fridays can be bad for folks leaving town.
I’ll plan on bringing out the grill with some extra chicken breasts if folks are interested. If this date/time works, we can decide on the pot-luck additions later.
Sandy, would that still work with the group who wants to come out for neighborhood registration?
Please let me know your feedback! We hope the Armitranos will still join us and we welcome the Turners to the neighborhood!
